Courses are held near Reading in Berkshire and attract parents from Berkshire, Oxfordshire, London, Surrey, Wiltshire and beyond. However, if your circumstances make travel difficult - Penny can come to you and provide a bespoke service tailored to your needs.
Courses based in Reading normally consist of 6 sessions on Monday evenings plus one breastfeeding class on a Wednesday evening. There are also occasional Saturday morning workshops. The best time to start the course is when you are between 22 and 32 weeks pregnant.
Group sizes are kept small and there is plenty of opportunity to chat to other parents-to-be. Many groups continue to meet up after the course has ended.
The Course Covers:
- Looking after yourself while pregnant and expecting more than one baby
- How your babies will be born - different scenarios including straightforward vaginal birth
- Pain relief and how to help yourself in labour
- Common hospital procedures including caesarean sections
- Infant feeding, feeding more than one
- Practical baby care and tips for caring for twins
- Looking after yourselves after your babies have arrived.
Another benefit of attending these classes is to meet other parents-to-be in the same situation, and to find out about support available locally.
Cost
